  • Speedometer noise

The speedometer seems to make a squeaking noise from about 20 to 35 mph and bounces a little bit too. Is that a common issue, I searched and didn't see anything on that. Is it possible to take them apart and lube or clean it?

Mine did that and yes you can lube the cable. It helped mine.

Thank you, I will try that and someday when the salt is not coating the roads I'll see if that fixes it.

I believe you can pull the speedo cable out from below by pulling it from the transmission and sliding the cable out. Clean it and lube it with a 'light' synthetic oil as you feed it back into the sheath. All kinds of advice out there, some good, some bad but the light synthetic oil seems to hold the general consensus.

biggest thing, make sure it's not in a bind somewhere.
