        Group buy?

I can get em, NEW (not reman) without the clutches for an excellent price (AROUND $100), however they must be imported back to the US so I need to get a group buy together. Minimum 10. Last time I posted this, it had all the excitement of a wet fart!

        Anyone wanna get in?

Is the clutch available? or can they be acquired? my AC is good (well if the engine wasn't in peices) but the darn clutch chatters alot. I fixed the nut that was trying to back off the center shaft. That helped a little, but its still noisy.

              Green Sales

I think Green Sales has the pullies and the coils. The disc is NLA but usually your old one is OK unless the rivets are ground down due to the retainer nut getting loose and the disc grinding against the pulley (which happens all the time).

I'd like to see the compressor and mounting bracket that Motion Dynamics uses. My current one is some fabbed up piece, that while it is solid, stands out terribly and rubs on the lower radiator hose. I could solve the latter problem by using a longer spacer, but there's still the problem with the apperance under the hood.

Will do Mike. What you're describing sounds awfully alot like what I've got right now, sans the smog pump bracket. It also has an idler pulley on it used to adjust the belt tension since the compressor is fixed in this bracket. It is similar to the setup used in the Mustang IIs and early 80s 4 cylinder setups that used the Techumsa A/C compressors.

I'd be interested in a bracket provided it would work with my existing A/C compressor. Let's just compare notes (and photos) to see what we can't come up with.

                    updating AC system

With Motion Dynamics not around now, I noticed today that latemodel restoration has a R134 "kit" listed for 84-86 SVO's. Has anyone seen this or better yet, tried it. From the pictures Mr. Flemming can you tell if it is the same thing that you got from MD, especially the brackets and hoses?

I didn't want to do the conversion to R134 and changed to Johnsen's Freeze 12. After evacuating my system with a cheap compressed air vacuum pump, I recharged it with Freeze 12. That was three years ago, and it still blows really cold, even in the Arizona summers. I understand Freeze 12 is more effecient than R12. All the A/C components (including the compressor) are original and doing well. (BTW, this 85.5 is for sale)

One other thing, several years ago, the compressor on my 85 died and I replaced it with a new Ford HR980 unit. I just checked ebay, and there are two new HR980's for sale. I did the same thing when I recharged it as my 85.5 with great results. Freeze 12 is also on ebay.

                      I hope this helps.
