  • Speedo cable stuck...

The title says it all.. I'm in the process of removing the trans for a new clutch & rear main seal replacement.. I have everything removed except for that darn speedo cable.. I have the bolt & retainer ring removed.. I than tugged on the cable & nothing.. I have thrown everything I have at this.. i soaked it with penatrating oil, WD-40 & it will not budge.. I talked to a friend that told me that all the speedo cables are the same, so just cut it & replace it later.. I really don't want to be pulling half of the dash apart for this.. Am I missing something?? Is there a snap ring also?? Any help will be great!! Thanks..

P.S. A friend now tells me that he has a silver 84 SVO that has no drive train in it.. It is a very clean California car.. He told me to pull my drive train out & toss it in this one.. Now what do I do??
