  • IC Circuit Board Interchangeability

    Hi All,
well I accidentally damaged the printed circuit board on my instrument cluster. I was going to change the original (E4ZX-10C956-A) with one I have on a spare cluster (E5ZF-10C956-AA). They appear almost the same except that the E5ZF one has the third from top idiot light as part of the circuit as opposed to a seperate loom. Anyone know if this might work and if not where can I get my original repaired??

    Thanks

    Chris

you CAN NOT change between a red (SVO) circut board to a Green circut board.

Long story short, the charging circut (feild wire)will not be complete if you use a green circut board. Lack of having a ammeter in a SVO cluster required the use of a resister bar(or whatever that thing is near the boost gauge) and a extra light bulb. Now if you can wire the field circut you'll have no problems, as this is whats in the dash to complete the charging circut.

If you have damaged the wiring on the circut board you can scratch the lamination off of it and solder a wire to jumper the connection back. Be careful when scratching the lamination off as the wiring paths maybe be brittle.

My original is a green and the spare is a red. I'm gonna try to fix it and see what happens. If it doesn;t work I know where I can get another, it's just a bummer. Huh-huh, a rhyme

thanks Mike. Yeah I'm 3G'd but I managed to fix the circuit board with a bit of fine soldering. Bearing that in mind I will now keep the spare just in case.
As for the overboost, never had that light come on but I'm only pumping 15psi. How do i know this.......tah-dah!!!!!! Finally fitted them and they work a treat.
