  • A-pillar Gauge Pod question

I've read up on this, but I'm seeing some different responses... So I thought I'd ask....

I'm considering adding a-pillar gauges, but would prefer to replace the entire a-pillar with one unit, rather than tacking on the two gauge pods on the existing a-pillar. From what I've read, no one is making a replacement a-pillar that fits a '79-'86, but there are '87-'93's available.

Some people have mentioned modifying the bottom of the '87-'93 style to make it fit, but how much needs to be done to it? If I had one in my hand I'd probably have my answer, but no one locally to me has any in stock....

Anyone on the board actively "making/modifying" these a-pillars for such a purpose?

Just get a factory a-pillar from a local bone yard, should be the same w/o the guage pucks. Now I need to go find one and try a similar project...after my brakes and exhaust.

Yeah I actually grabbed a blue one out of an '86 coupe on Tuesday when I was in Arkansas, which got me thinking about this...

Let me know if you need a gauge pod. I have a single 2 1/16" pod for the pillar. I was going to use it, but then i got 2 gauges and now its been putup for staorage. PM for details. Oh this is the type that attaches to the existing pillar.

I'll keep it in mind... I'm leaning towards putting a 2 gauge pod on there myself. How did you attach it to your pillar? Two sided tape or screws?
