Well with the help of svobud and numerous emails I ordered and finally installed the Eibach sportline springs on my now not stock 86. Alignment setting thanks to the forum for specs. Well went out for a short ride on my favorite curvey road, turned into 2 hours. I think its a different car. I am thrilled with the changes. Yes it sits much lower, but the ride is very controlled, turn in is now crisp, accelleration feels quicker and yep I installed the pinion snubber. Still on factory rims, I just like them, tires are dunlap sp8000's with about 3k miles on them. The goal, burn'em off and get really sticky tires oh and I changed all the bushings to poly stuff. The ride is really not that harsh at least in the carolinas. Plan on spending next weekend in the NC mountains near tail of the Dragon, some great curvey roads. Hope to get an autox in before the reunion. Thanks SVObud great recommendation, the eibach set is terrific.

I feel your joy brother! I got the whole "quarter-mile speed" thing out of my system decades ago (any moron can go fast in a straight line) ... now it's all about the curves!

I recently got my '84 1C back from my friend who completely refreshed the undercarriage (struts/shocks/poly bushings/steering rack/springs/the works) ... wowzers! He put the Eibach Proline springs on, but like a dork I bought the 4/6 cylinder versions and didn't take into account the different SVO front suspension geometry so I got a severe drop in the front (Fender lip nearly even with the top of the tire). A tad too low for me, guess I need to get some V-8 springs to get the front back up a bit (Don't want to blow those shiney, and pricy, new Koni struts!). That all said, the improvement in handling is un-freaking'-believable. Turns that were a struggle at 30mph I now breeze through at 45-50mph! Of course, probably just replacing the original (120k miles) struts helped tremendously.

As you've learned, I too have come to realize that what Bud (along with several others) says should be treated as gospel. My goal is to make the 2011 Reunion so that I can personally thank most, if not all, those who have offered their sage counsel.
      Edith Keeler must die!

Just a FYI on the Eibach Sportline springs ... they are NOT listed as a SVO fitting spring - you'll have to order them as an application for a 87-93 V8.

I'm sure there's legions of folks who will argue that opinion - some of them would be right. HA!
2011!?!? Dang ... that's a long term goal, but we'll still be celebrating.
