  • Boport 1.9

I also purchased the HLA's, Springs and reman'd roller rockers. Shipping was faster then expected. Installed in car and love the new sound. When the exhaust is capped it has a nice lope, although it is fairly sluggish off the line, in normal driving conditions I rely on the clutch to get going alot more. When I have my cutout off driveability improved drastically, it loves the additional flow. 3500+ is where its at, I highly recommend getting the springs with it otherwise powerband will be limited. I will give it two thumbs up, it performs exactly as expected and more.

rather then clutter up the product review area with another 1.9 thread, ill tag along here.

bo is a stand up guy, contacted him about my setup as i was on the wall between a 1.5 and a 1.9. HE351/E6/3" exhaust/FMIC/stock intake/stock TB/LA3/Spec stg 3 clutch. I had ordered the springs and followers before when I had the ranger roller. ordered new lifters along with the cam due to the required shimming.

had the KD-tools cam tool, which made life a whole lot easier; install can be a bit tedious to setup correctly, but only took about 2 hours in total.

has a wonderful burble at idle. required a bit of tweaking on the IAC duty cycle to get it stabilized below 900rpm.

IMO, from 2k-3.5k, it feels like a ranger roller. from 3.5k onward, its a screaming banshee that pulls and pulls and pulls. boost onset with the HE351 comes a few hundred rpm sooner, and comes on a lot softer, rather then wait wait wait OMGWTFIMGONNADIE. only issue i have, as 86svo9l mentioned, is off idle tip in can be a bit.. hairy.

this cam will outflow stock injectors without much trouble at all.

2 thumbs up, highly recommended and stupid amounts of fun.
    redneck engineered 84 2a, stock 84 1D.
