A note on the refinishing of the SVO rims. I was told that the castings of aluminum rims in the 1980's was not what it is today. That is to say that the castings were porous. After the face is machined and re-cleared there may be minor, tiny pin head pours in the clear here and there. This can't be avoided. It didn't happen on all my rims but one. Overall the quality is very very good, I'd say better than factory beacause with powdercoating the face won't peel like the factory rims did. The weight difference between the SVO stock 16s and the 95 GT 17's is significant, so it stands to reason the advancement in wheel castings over the 10 year difference. Too bad the SVO rims couldn't be redone with the current technology and the weight reduction.

Those wheels look great, will keep the info handy just in case.
One note on the 'fish-eye' issue. One thing that might help the issue would be to bake the wheels through the powder coating oven once before they coat them. The 'fish-eye' could be caused by the machining oil/lube they use to refinish the surface, as it might seep into the porous voids. The contaminents should then be boiled off prior to having the powder coat put on. We occasionally have this issue with our powder coated aluminum castings at work.
