I believe the factory ones are 17" 5-lug for the Cobra's. You can get them in 4 lug, but we don't need that. Just curious as to if someone has used them before and how they fit!

    Thanks

Here is an example on a 93 Teal Cobra...

Actually, The factory wheels are 4 lugs! You'll need to get a set of replicas.

    93 R model Cobra's had 5 lugs however...

Yeah, but they are 15", and all MN12 Tbirds have a 4.25" bolt circle where ours is a 4.5", so the Bird wheels won't fit.

I never said they would fit...

I know, I was just saying. I came back to SVO's from the SuperCoupe Tbird community because they were such a pain to work on (no under-hood real-estate at all!!)

It is very uncanny just how much the tbird turbine wheels look so much like the 17" 1993 Cobra wheels look though...

They ARE nice-looking wheels, though. I wonder if replicas do exist, and how heavy they are.

I am pretty sure they exist! I think they would look sharp! Here is a pic of the 5-lug version....

How would rims that came stock on a fox Mustang look when installed on another fox Mustang?

Well.....I dunno. Would they look different? When you remove them from one fox chassis and install them on another fox chassis, do they change color? Shape? Design? Just thinkin out loud here. Maybe they slough tires at random intervals without warning and without a recognizable pattern? The musings of a bored individual.....

How would a 93 Cobra look with SVO rims? Maybe like an SVO with ground effects? From the side at least.....all bets are off when viewed from the front or back.

It would look something like this...

Disclaimer: When I get some time to work on my projects this one will be coming back apart and re-built again. All the SVO stuff will be going back to my other SVOs or sold to the needy. The wheels are one of my spare sets so I'll be keeping them.

Well, I think the wheels , being of kind of a similiar design (flat surface), turbine blades instead of holes, I think they would actually represent the SVO's better than the original wheels because of the turbine style! As for whether the Fox chassis stuff would interchange or look different, I don't know. I think a really good look upgrade to the SVO (which already looks great), would be the Saleen (87-93) rear bumper cover and the Cobra wheels mentioned above!!

I should try to Photoshop a set in and see what it looks like. Any opinions?

IMHO, I don't like the SVO wheels on the Cobra, it looks like a 87-93 GT with LX ten hole wheels. I think Fox chassis Mustangs should have come with a minimum of a 17" wheel for no other reason than to fill the huge gaps in the fender when using factory height suspension.

There is a HUGE thread on another site with Replica Wheels (or vice versa) manufacturing the 5 lug version you see above in limited quantites. The only issue is the offsets are still wrong and it takes about 1-1/2 to get them in from the mass order send off. I was wanting to order a set very badly but still no chance of them fitting without some serious suspension mods, SN95 and an axle swapout.

                              I love the wheels though.

I agree with pstocker....the turbine wheels and a nicer rear cover since the nose looks great.
