Nope, they were discontinued. I have the Nexen 3000 (I think) 245/45/16 VR and have been very happy with them.

I think I've got it figured out (duh). The car once had 245/45/17's on it and no problems on the front with a minor rub on the left rear in certain situations.

245/50/16's are almost identical to 245/45/17's

I have some Bridgestone Pole position S-03's on my SVO....and can't say enough good about them. 225/50/16. Not cheap by any means...but for 300 a set with stickers still on them I couldn't pass them up at Carlisle last year.

I have those on my SVO too. I love em. They are better than the kuhmo's that came off. Nice thing about the 225 50R16 size is its cheaper than the other larger size tires.

I've also run the Pole Position S02s on my other Mustang and those things are incredible, especially in the rain. But they are $186 each.

Looks like the Bridgestone Potenza RE050A is on closeout at tirerack for $80 a tire, might want to check that out. Also the Potenza RE01R is $127 each.

Your cars handling/traction is limited by your tires (especially when you have crappy ones), so I say spend the money for good tires.

I went with these Toyo's Proxes 4 .. 225/50/16 all around and quite impressed with the grip they have, and for the few time i drove it in the rain, excelent traction too. Usually in the spring Toyo has a good sale, i think i got mine for like 650$CAN.
