  • What are the widest tires that will fit?? Goodyear Eagle F1 DS3

    Hi,

Looking to buy some new tires. Im looking at getting the Goodyear Eagle F-1 DS3. (Good rating in the Consumer reports)

What are the widest tires I can fit on my 86 SVO ?? Right now it has the stock 225/50 on 16" wheels.

These are the same kind of wheels that are on it..

Anyone have experience with those tires?

    Thanks.

with the different offset on those sn-95 wheels you are not going to be able to go very wide without rubbing. as Mike said, check the thread on this topic under wheels/tires...

Don't know about size, but you will like the F1s.

I have a set of BFG 245/45/16 front and 255/45/16 rear on my original SVO rims. There is no rubbing issues and they look good.

I have 245/50/16's on stock rims - no rubbing. My car has also had 245/45/17's on a set of tri-bars (94/95) with some slight rubbing. These tires have the same OD - 25.65 to 25.68 respectively.

As johnbasler stated - the off-set on the SN95 type wheels is what is going to cause rubbing issues.
