  • Sounds like money and time well spent at the track. Did you have an opportunity to take the Miata around the track? What is the current state of tune on the mustang? How close is your tune for the dragstrip? Got some pics from the weekend?

    • I just crew chiefed this weekend. Worked fine.

Its tuned up to about 4000 rpm. We need to finish it up. I can interpolate a map and then data log to finish if I have to.

I just spent an hour and a half fiddling with the primer map and a couple of other items. Still learning my way around the keystrokes. Its fun.

No pics. I'll see if a couple of the other guys have them.

      • Hmmm, the ford, navistar etc crank trigger sensor wants 5v, the Haltech ECU crank trigger out put is 12v.

        Love electronics, just love it.

        • So what's the plan? Another sensor? A converter? So close, yet so far.........

If I place a bet, what do I win?

          • At this point, it'll be to stay with the functioning VR sensor. I'll call Haltech tomorrow to determine whether or not the computer can be configured to a 5v signal.

Bets, what are you thinking for a win??

I was thinking more along the lines of something like this http://goodies-speedshop.com/i-34434...-vehicles.html

For a win? That's a horse of a different color!

Hey...maybe you should just go with a megasquirt. If we are just racing to car shows, I know it's good enough for that! LOL.
Hoping to get on the track soon

Super easy fix Bob. Are you willing to build a simple circuit or install one to step down the voltage?

Up Vince UP! No California math here. 5 to 12!

                    • 12 to 5 then 5 to 12.

                        • Talked to Haltech, they say to pull the power at 5v off of an Aux input. The output at 5v will still provide the proper input for the ECU. Talked to Scott (Dieselgeek, huber's ecu guy) and he thought that the sensor would take the 12v and still work. Well, time to mount the sensor, connect some wires and see if we let some smoke out.

                          • Guess I got that wrong! I didn't read what you needed correctly and I guess I owe Mitch another beer.

If you just need to drop the voltage from 12 to 5 thats easy. Just use an IVR. You probably have one of those lying around....

Just don't use a Ford IVR!
