  • Bushings and H&R sport Springs

I am thinking of doing H&R sport springs now that I have good wheels and tires on the car.(05 Bullits and 245/40/17 Kumo RS2's) The front suspention is stock with 160K and I want to do poly bushings while the springs are out. Should I do Rack bushings also? How much do the H&R's lower the car? Do I need to worry about bump steer kit with these? Tire rubbing? I have searched but there seams to be mixed opinions on the bump steer problem! Thanks as always for the opinions,Bruce

Bruce, the H&R sports are a great choice I have those with rubberspring isolators. Poly isolators may not drop the car as much. I also have poly in the steering bushes and love it. No rubbing on 245/40/17's either.

Cool how much did it drop your car? I am planning to do poly control arm bushings and steering rack bushings, not the spring isolators. I want to know if I want the offset rack bushings or not?

No need for that. Plan on a little bit more negative camber for help with tire wear, fender clearance, and Auto-X purposes.

Bruce - I went with the poly rack bushings as well from MM.
I've attached (i.e. whored) some pics of Fergie with the HR sport springs and poly bushings all around to include the things on top and bottom of the springs (brain fart).

Can I get more with stock adjusters? I don't know where they are adjusted now though!

Take a pic of your camber plates so we can see if there is adjustment left. Are the rivets still in the alignment hole?

My camera died but I will try to get one. With Motion out of business is there a club vendor that sells H&R's? Looked at Forced 4 but the web listings don't show anything but Ford springs.

Here are the pics of my CC plates. They look to be adjusted all the way in on DS and one notch away on PS.

I put in the H&R Sport Springs 2 days ago. Don't have any real time on them but first impressions are great. Corners flatter and rides very much like my stock springs in DDing. Droped the rear about 2 1/2" the front not so much. This is just what I would have wanted because it had a drag race rake before that I didn't like but now its great.

                            Great Look!

Did you go with the poly or rubber spring isolators? The stance on you car looks perfect to me.

                            Thanks,
                            John

I bought the poly isolators but only used the bottom spring wrap. My upper was in good shape and looked thinner. The poly looked really thick! I also drive on the street more than anything so a little ISOLATION sounded good to me. The rears are stock type that were on the car when I got it.
