Ferodo used to make "green stuff" brake material several decades ago. I dunno if it's the same thing that was just mentioned.

Race Brake Pads - What Brakes Does an 86 SVO Have

No. Ceramic and semi-metallics are dusty. No way around it. The harder and more aggressive the pad, the more your rotors will wear. My brother put Hawk pads and SS lines on his Cobra and they work good but they're sqeaky and messy.
EBC greenstuff is a pad that is non metallic IIRC, but has a very high friction coefficient. The company claims high stopping power and reduced noise, dust and rotor wear. Motorcycle guys seem to like 'em a lot, I was just wondering if anyone here had any experience with them.
The BATFE should be a convenience store.

In the motorcycle world, at least my MC world, EBC pads are famous for destroying rotors.(I wonder if it's a coincidence they sell rotors?
J/K ) No idea how it would compare to whatever they use on car pads though.
"Normally" a metallic pad will be much less dusty and longer lasting. Some prefer organic pads on race bikes as they have more feel, with more progression and less initial bite. They are typically much more messy, and much faster wearing, to the tune you can junk a set in a weekend.

Bendutro, go over to the Contour.org board and check on EBC greenstuff pads. I know a few folks over there were always debating on whether to go with red or green pads. Seems like folks stay away from the green pads.
I had Mintex A/F pads on my CSVT for 1 day before I sold the car (long story) and liked how they broke in. I am about to put on Stillen pads, so I will have a better idea how they are by the Reunion.Ted

One other point I forgot to mention...
If you switch to a organic pad, you have to build the transfer layer on the rotor. This is a layer of pad material that gets deposited on the rotor and is actually what does the work.
Organic pads are not aggressive enough to clean off the transfer layer from the previous pads.
By far the easiest way to do this is to buy new rotors, but you can sandblast or have used rotors turned.
Metallic pads are aggressive enough, and will clean a used rotor even if you don't machine them.

I put the EBC greenstuff on my 300ZX. They were dusty and similar to stock in braking power. I won't waste my money again.
If you want to stop fast with a little dust then get the Hawk street pad. If you want to stop even faster and a lot of dust then get the Hawk street/track pads. They will squeek if you don't put some of the bendix spray brake quiet on the back of the pads.Mike S
