the one I posted a few posts up..that is the interchange list from Ready-Aire.. again I could be wrong, but the end just looks different on it. either way, they do have the correct one on their site though and can be ordered.

They just might not have "Factory Air" on their radar for a cross reference. Nonetheless, my Advance guy has it as being applicable to the 85 SVO, and can get it in next day for $73+change. That is for the drier and the suction hose as well. So far, I haven't had the wrong part come across the counter on the first try.

I can also refuse the part if need be due to applicability issues.

? should I edit my posts so you get the credit or ??..

the point is the correct part can still be found and ordered and everyone has the info now no matter who found what and posted what.

you could explain the point you are trying to make via PM so we keep this thread on it's true topic. I for one have no clue what you're trying to say other than you posted it first and you're making a point of it. if I'm wrong explain it. I have no beef here as long as the info is posted for everyone that needs it.

                great..doesn't hold the formatting..

also give acpartsguys on ebay a call.. buddy got new compressor, clutch, everything from there..I got my compressor there as well.
Man, these things are hard to come by, but I finally got one! Using that interchange list that BrianO posted, I started Google'ing the part numbers, and found that Motorcraft YF1192 crossed over to an Action Air 37-23341. I got mine from the "ACKits.com" website for $68.00 after shipping. Here's the link to it:

If you care to know, I stopped by 5 different parts stores (one of which the guy looked in two catalogs and called three different people) with no success of finding one, and I tried ordering the one that someone had a link for earlier on the O'Reilly's website but got a message saying that none of their warehouses stock the part.

I haven't put it on the car yet, but the fittings all look the same so I'm sure it'll fit. I'll update again if it doesn't fit. This new one is made of unpainted aluminum.

                Thanks for your help everyone,

                  Dryer with hose

I have found 2 correct ones new in Ford boxes on EB in the last year. Can give the part no. Thurs. if you need it.
They do not come up often!
Paid $10 for the last one several weeks ago (only bidder...........).
Had the E4 part number on it which looks nice on my '84 car.

I converted my system from R-12 to R-134a yesterday. The fittings were replaced as was the drier/accumulator. It took some extra time because they had a hard time finding the correct one but they did find it. I kept the original part and the box it came in and it is from CarQuest, the box says "Temperature Control" so this may not be the right box but the part number on the box is 210197. I had the guys at Midas do the work. The A/C was so cold on the way home I had to turn it down (I live in Phoenix, AZ). My car is an 86. I thought about the Freeze-12 stuff but everywhere I checked they said that if my car had that in it, they wouldn't work on it because it would contaminate their equipment. Freeze-12 is a mix of R-12 and R-134a, just what everybody is trying to avoid happening to their equipment apparently.

Chuck, did you change the compressor too ?
134's higher pressures usually make the compressors last about 2 years, if you're lucky.

                        R-12 to R-134a refrigerant

Did not change the compressor. The A/C guy told me that the compresspr that was in there would work superbly since it was a "round" "5-piston" model. And the use that this car gets will probably see it lasting another 20 years anyway. It has collector insurance on it so it gets driven every few months only. Thanks for the hint, I'll keep an eye on it.

I paid about $275 for the complete job. If I had not replaced the accumulator it would have been about $90 less but was not recommended.

The 1984 forsure, maybe 85, were different than the 1986 type. The earlier models had one of the A/C hoses attached to the accumulator.

Is this for sure? I found someone who is selling a NOS accumulator with the hose but it was originally purchased for an '85 and my car is an '86.

From the pictures it **looks** the same.
