    Sounds like you need to keep your troubleshooting items (i.e.- test light, meter, etc) in the car, so when it does go out you can trace where the power is dropping out. When it does go out, don't touch the igition key and get to a spot where you can start tracing the power w/o changing its current state. Unfortunately when you shut the ignition off and back on again, you may remake contact on a connector that doesn't have a clean contact. Good luck, keep at it and let us know what you end up finding.
