how to remove oil pan

I need to replace my oil pump in my 84 svo so I need to take off my oil pan. How do You take off the oil pan step by step while the motor is still in the car.

I will say, I've tried it both ways. I really think it's easier to pull the engine.

oil pan is down

Thanks for all the help. The most importing thing to it is to get the subframe low enough for the oil pan to slide out. I had it so low I did not have to take off the pickup tube from oil pump. Make sure your jack holding trany is setting back enough for the oil pan to side out.
