This is what I have been trying to find out! What every pin does.Originally posted by SVOeric View PostKnowing the whole TFI wont help you any more than getting spark. that VID shows how to get spark. the other pins are around how the computer controls dwell and retard and advance.84 SVO, 88 TC, 12 F150 Ecoboost, 08 HHR SS Turbo, 13 ESCAPE Ecoboost, get the picture !

I think this is what you are looking for, in simple form anyway. Couple pages from the Slocum handbook.
Handbook - Slocum_Thick Film Ignition_pg2-16.jpg Handbook - Slocum_ECA Operating Modes_pg3-6.jpg
If you really want to dig into how the EEC and TFI work, then I suggest investing in a copy of the Charles O. Probst book "How to Understand, Service and Modify Ford Fuel Injection & Electronic Engine Control". A Google search on "probst ford fuel injection" will pop up where to get it. It has a pic of a white 86 GT on the cover for reference.
Hope this helps.Ted

The video is the basics for what it needs to work, it's what I would do if I were in your shoes. If you complete that procedure, and still have no spark, you MUST have a TFI, PIP, or coil problem. bottom line.
if you complete the procedure and do have spark, it gives you where to look next.
I've even heard tale of a situation where the spout being out would cause a no-spark condition.
Eliminating everything but the basics, and building is the way to fix a problem like thisEric C
