After putting everything back together I ended up woundering what this plug is for? See attached
Did I forget to plug this somewhere?
Or is it for test purposes?
Thank
Chris

Maybe a Kock Sensor ? or something else that plugs into the intakes ?
That is my guess.

I never knew a four banger could be this much fun, and I may never go back to: N/A, Autos, or V-8s again
There is this wiring lume that runs just under the forward/bottom portion of the master cylinder. This lume branches off into three places.
1. The oil pressure sensor
2. The oil level sensor
3. The plug in question.....!!
Maybe someone could go out and look under their hood for quick check.
I was certain I plugged everything back up, and afterwards found this dangling under the intake area
And the dreaded No 1 Injector continues to leak just a tad. You can actually hear it bleading off pressure after running a bit, and rotating the connector a bit stops it momentarily!
umm I went out and checked mine and I can't figure it out. I'm stilling going with the KS my self. My KS plug looks different from that plug your showing so it maynot be it, my wires on the plug are yellow and black also. Sorry I couldn't anymore than that

I went out and looked at my 86 and could not find that connector on top of the engine. Looking at the picture, it appears to have a rubber shroud on it. If I recall correctly, the oil level sensor has a rubber shroud.
On my loom, the other connector that is associated with the oil sender and the oil level is a connector that mounts just below the injector harnes connector which is attached to steel bracket that supports the fuel dampener. But mine is grey, not black.

Mike,
Perhaps you can explain that a little more.
The plug is gray (just dirty), with black and orange wires. I put that shroud on all wires to clean things up because it was beginning to look like a bad plate of spagetti in there
I have a feeling it goes somewhere in the back area but still can't find a home for it. All other sensors are accounted for. (and I hope correctly)
Thanks
Chris
I still can't figure it out either. I've looked a few different times on my 85' and no luck. I got a big wire lume comming out of the fire wall near the M/C with three main branches but they all plug in to the engine harness right by the M/C. I can't really tell where they run once it gets in the other main lume. Each branch as like 3 or more wires in it also and non are Orange and black by the selves Are you on TurboFord.org? If so ask Jaime he would probly know exactly which one it is.

find it yet? It goes on the lower intake, firewall side. Can't be seen from top of engine. I plug/unplug mine from underneath the car. Sensor's near the oil cooler hoses. I also think KS.

There are two connectors mounted on the drivers side of the upper intake, a black one on top goes to the fuel injector harness, the one on bottom is gray and goes over towards the starter solenoid. I'm out of town this week so I'm going from memory. Both of the above connectors came from have a little plastic push pin that holds them to the metal bracket.
Hope this helps. By the way, does the car start and run?

Thanks Kraig,
That was it! I forgot about the under-the-car sensor I replaced.
Unfortunately, the plug was stronger than the NEW sensor and half the sensor "body" just broke off rather than give-in to the plug "lock"!
Now I gotta drain the system AGAIN and replace that sensor AGAIN!
Does anyone no anything about the Motion Dynamics 180 degree sensor? Is it worth 38 bucks?
Chris
PS Mike S
It runs like a bat out of H E double hockey sticks. Like the day after 3000 miles and I really punched it. Tires light up in 2nd at full boost on flat concrete.
A side bar: I remember an AutoWeek (or maybe R/T) article on the 85.5 SVO that said it was a potential "kid killer" and went on to state that parents should not buy this car as a graduation present for their sons because it was too much MORE than a regular GT. I bet I have the Mag somewhere in my mess downstairs! But this a whole different subject, I apologize for digressing.
That was my next guess ...ya right Well just glad to see you found it, I was going nuts trying to figure it out my self, I didn't think about the fan switch cause mine just has one wire that plugs into the lower intake, unless there is two cooling fan connections don't mind me I'm always lost lol

85.5 and 86 have 2 wires and a plug that is sturdier than the aftermarket sensor.
Ford doesn't make that sensor anymore. My local dealer gave me a shopping list of dealers within 300 miles that "says" they (get this) each have 1 in stock. So I called the dealer in West Virginia (60 miles away) and yup they have one, but cannot sell over the phone. So my local dealer has graciously agreed to order it COD for me.
Wait a pain in the rear this has been.
