    My engine dies when I come to a stop, when i start it up i have to keep it with a little gas to keep it going, once going it seems to be okay until the next stop, WHATS UP????

    You have a vacuum leak. Check all your intake hoses and various vacuum lines.

      make sure your IAC is plugged in and working properly

        ok i am thinking maybe vacuum leak, cause when it happened it was sudden, would the IAC be sudden or gradual. Where is the code pllug to hook up comuputer to read codes on an 84

          The diagnostic plugs, large and small are located on the left front fender not far from the ignition coil and tfi harness. A vacuum leak won't show any codes, although a malfunctioning IAC should.

            great.........I knew I had a vacuum leak some where.

            although this has only happend to me once, I and I havent been able to find the leak.

              i took it and had it checked, i just talked to the guy they did a vacuum check so i am crossing out vacuum leak out, so must be IAC. would cleaning help or do i need anothre one. I have been reading and it seems IAC gives irregular idle. I die when i come to a stop, would it still be IAC.

                that is what the IAC does is let air in at idle, if you have no air, car dies

                  You need to remove the IAC, take it apart, and clean the body inside and out with brake cleaner or similar. After you reinstall it, you should perform the base idle procedure as described in the FAQ section.

                    these are the codes pulled up

                    22 barometric pressure sensor circuit
                    23 TPS circuit ( replaced TPS bout month ago)
                    26 airflow sensor circuit
                    54 airflow meter
                    81 thermactor diverter or bypass circuit
                    82 " " " "
                    83 low speed primary -fuel pump

                    What is all this in english to me, thank you , I know I know it seems to be a lot. I hope to fix this.

                      PS I got an IAC form kragen, it was for a SVO 2.3 turbo but the OEM part it is suppsed to replace doesnt match my number on part does that matter???

                        No it doesn't matter. You can even use the IAC off a 5.0 HO. They work just fine!

                          87 TC EEC is the computer i switched wires at the conecter.

                          I switched computer and car ran ok at first it didnt quite run hard in 3 or 4 and ran a lil hotter but seem to run better after i ran better gas. So do i need another EEC ??????

                            60 pic connector
                            i switched from reg to one of 87 TC
                            only mods are gillis vave and the computer and injectors, havent changed anything else

                            as for undoing sensors i am not that good a mech. i am used to older 5.0 and 5.8 this is my first venture to this type of engine

                              I am going to go over the pinning again and make sure i got them in there tight and all that. is there anything else I should look for in particular.
