Is that based off the duratech 2.3??? It sure doesn't look like the one out of my svo, well that and I don't have a welded valve cover and wet sump oiling system...

Has anyone completed this swap into an SVO?? I just picked up the 03 ranger duratec 2.3 and am starting to collect parts for it. 65,000 miles and it was complete with computer and harness for 270.00 bucks. Im going to be replacing the ranger head with a focus head, dished pistons and rods and maybe a mild cam, then of course turbo charging it. Ill prob need some help along the way. I have the ability to make the motor mounts but would be a lot easier if someone was making a few of them here and there. In this thread there was mention of Chuck W.?.?.? Ring any bells. Thanks

I can say most people choose to go the route of stock block, and allum. head. The strength of those blocks are questionable. you already need to change to forged rods and pistons.
I'm not sure what you'd gain from the newer style block, than maybe just a bit of weight savings.
I know a few people had looked into this before, but I think the questionable strength, and the cost involved turned most away from it. Plus, the cast iron SVO block is dang near bullet proof. Chuck w did make a couple different types of mounts, but he only made svo, and Turbocoupe mounts as far as I know.
