  • Full boost at 5000rpm

    why? i have a stock block with a big valve ported head,lunati cam with about .500 lift,T3/T4@20psi, stock intercooler, ported/gutted intake,stock TB,3" downpipe(let me know if you need anymore info.) It dos'nt hit full boost until about 5000,then i need to shift at 6000(7000 when i put the chip in, a little bit better)

    Where is your timing ? ( Camm too )

    What are the specs on the turbo ?

      +1, and check your hoses for cracks/loose clamps, maybe check your wastegate diaphragm(sp?)

        the turbo says A/R.50 , before the head swap,boost was at 4000. With T3 it was at 3000

          I mean whats "inside" the turbo ?

            What is the A/R on the turbine? Has the wheel been clipped? Do you have the stock internal wastegate setup or external?

              i only know that it is a T3/T4 off of Ebay. stock waste gate

                what got into the exhaust and clogged up the cat while you were rebuilding ?

                    OK, so here are my guesses seeing as thats about how much info we have to go on here.

                    1) Your T3/T4 is a PPOS. ( Especially if its an SSAutochrome Turbo and/or you bought it used. )
                    2) Seeing as how you havent answered the Q about timing, your timing is screwed up.

                      timing is at 10. i just dont know why it hits full boost at 5000 with new head and before with stock head it was at 4000.turbo worked great before

                        clogged exhaust will cause boost to come in late..

                        Also -- you need to read up on timing -- Cam timing, and ignition timing are 2 completly different things
