These parts were in and around my SVO when I bought it. For the life of me I cant figure out where they go to, or if they even belong to the car. One is a heavy steel support bracket. The other is a bracket of some type but I dont know what for.
I don't know about the support piece, but the other part goes on the side of the inline intake manifold (which isn't on an 86) where the upper and lower come together. The dipstick bolt goes through it on the side.
That's the dipstick tube on your car? Looks nothing like mine! Can you take a picture showing more of the intake and dipstick please?
I guess I should have said the dipstick is "supposed" to be bolted on the manifold through the bracket. When I did my manifold change I couldn't get it all lined up right, so I didn't get it bolted up right as you can see in the pictures.
And don't worry, I did push the fuel line clip back in (pic 3).
Morg - you *need* to fix this!! If that hose end comes off, it'll ruin your week for sure.
It's funny. If I hadn't taken the pictures I might not have noticed. That clip is real loose. I re-installed it from the top so gravity won't be working against it. But I'll have to find a new clip before I drive it again.
Ah. I see now... My bracket is missing. I also see it holds the fuel pulse dampener. I removed mine a while back. That area is crowded enough already. Dang hard to get the dipstick out and back with all the hoses, etc. in the way.
