  • Can anyone I.D. these parts?

These parts were in and around my SVO when I bought it. For the life of me I cant figure out where they go to, or if they even belong to the car. One is a heavy steel support bracket. The other is a bracket of some type but I dont know what for.

    Can anyone help me out?

This might get me in trouble - but I've never seen those parts on a SVO. At least not a 1986 SVO.

I don't know about the support piece, but the other part goes on the side of the inline intake manifold (which isn't on an 86) where the upper and lower come together. The dipstick bolt goes through it on the side.

        IS that "brace"

Is that brace the motor to bellhousing brace???? (on the driver side of the motor)

Looks bent up-but could be that piece

That's what it looks like to me, but I thought it was on the passenger's side. But I could be wrong since mne never had one.

That's the dipstick tube on your car? Looks nothing like mine! Can you take a picture showing more of the intake and dipstick please?
If it ain't broke... Give me some time!

I guess I should have said the dipstick is "supposed" to be bolted on the manifold through the bracket. When I did my manifold change I couldn't get it all lined up right, so I didn't get it bolted up right as you can see in the pictures.

And don't worry, I did push the fuel line clip back in (pic 3).

It's funny. If I hadn't taken the pictures I might not have noticed. That clip is real loose. I re-installed it from the top so gravity won't be working against it. But I'll have to find a new clip before I drive it again.

I do have a turbo coupe dipstick that I'll give a try to see if it fits better. Guess I wont be needing that old inline intake bracket.

I'm still wondering if that bar us for the turbo support or something.

$3.35 for three. I guess that's better than burning to the ground.

                          Back on the road again.

Ah. I see now... My bracket is missing. I also see it holds the fuel pulse dampener. I removed mine a while back. That area is crowded enough already. Dang hard to get the dipstick out and back with all the hoses, etc. in the way.

Nope -- the turbo brace is a Y looking bracket, with one hole at the bottom, and 2 at the top.

That thing looks like someone home-made.
