    Mike,

You need to use 3.5 laps at a minimum.

I actually was asking out of curiosity, as I know that if threads are wrapped in excess, they just don't thread in correctly, and become bound-up. Or.....when not wrapped enough, won't seal and will leak.
Oh well, much talk about nothing......

          Sorry Kurt,

Yes, it is important not to get too much tape or too little on the fitting. You can always try a test with the bolt, cam and tape before install to see how much is really needed.

I still say you need at least 3.5 laps, maybe 5 or 6.

I believe I used the teflon tape and some Permatex Aviation gasket sealer on the upper part of the bolt. I think I used 'pi' number of wraps around the bolt. :-)

Yea don't forget the tape, i had a hell of an oi leak due to another mechanic not using telfon tape.

ANd yes i'm in somewhat good physical condition and after lifting just the head off my car, my back was pissed off at me. the next day when i went to reinstall i must of had 2 cokes and about 4 cigs before i mustered the nerve to pick up that Heavy SOB. lift would have definitely helped.

2 cokes? Try 2 of these! Maybe you need to have some GATORaide. And heres a pic of Chaulkys favorite brew. Of course he was a bad influence on Pats Cats during his visit at knotts. LOL ( yes I know its an old pic, I still like it though)
