how to check if a fuel Injector is stuck open

    Why are you paying $280 for 55lb injectors? Talk with Juscuz over on Turboford, he sells new Delphi's for less than that.

      Hey, someone else can explain how it works, but I think you can hold your foot to the floor with the gas pedal, crank it over and the injectors won't fire. If it is leaking by, it still will in this scenario. That way the valves will open close and any fuel leaking by will end up in the cylinder. Do this with the plugs removed as I suggested earlier.

      Things to consider here as well:

      1. Does the fuel pressure drop off after a KOEO pressure build-up?
      If so, it is either an injector, FPR, or pump related problem. The thing to determine is how long does it take to drop off pressure, and how much does it drop off?
      2. If you were to have a leaking injector, you would know if you dropped the oil from the pan. The smell of fuel would rear it's head. If you do have a leaking injector, you need to change that oil anyway. Fuel dillution is not good on the engine.

        when ever I step on the gas to build boost it does pop and bog out for a sec then it builds boost really good untill I shift to second then it starts bogging out again

          ok so I switched out my fpr instead of trying to change the injector first! I put a new stock one on, and put my guage on the rail! So I turned my car to the on position and it jumped to around 40 and it stays there instead of going back down, does that sound right?

                  yeah thanks everyone for the help! But for some reason my car still bogs when its about to build boost! any suggestions on what that could be?

                    you need to run a fuel pressure gage out to where you can see it while driving. You should build up fuel pressure along with boost. 1 psi of fuel per psi of boost.

                    Also, do you have the stiff wire in your VAF meter hose to keep it from collapsing and choking off the turbo?

                        what stiff wire and i dont know my afr because i dont have a guage

                          There should be a wire inside that hose. It is round. It is there for the same purpose that the lower radiator hose is.

                          If you don't have one in there, cut the ends out of a soup can and insert if in there to keep the hose from collapsing.

                            oh that wire i dont have that hose, i have exhaust pipe with turbo hose on the ends connecting to the turbo to the vane meter

                              one other way to figure out if you have an injector problem, especially if you're having an idle issue is to let it idle and unplug one injector at a time. If you unplug an injector and you idle does not change then thats the problem injector.

                                That would be to test to see if an injector is not firing, coil is toast, or clogged.
