trick to gas tank grommit?

Navy, this was in fact the tank that was the problem. I had replaced filler grommet and vent grommet at least twice each and when I dropped the tank you could see where the gas was coming out of the vent grommet area on the top. I got a new valve and grommet I believe from 50resto or Rockauto..been a while. But once I installed this stuff on the new tank the leak/fumes stopped completely. It must have had a flaw I couldn't see.

BTW, you can get the grommet and valve form Ford. They have both in stock and continue into the mid-90's for application

I figured so, but where I live the drive to the nearest dealer is more expensive than ordering online. LOL..
