Wideband install suggestions.

I am looking for a place to install my Display in my SVO. I am curious to see where everyone else has there's mounted.

Here is my idea. I am going to purchase a JAW wideband and install it where the factory clock is. I have seen it done before and it looks sweet. But any other suggestions would be nice.

that's where I'm putting mine, make sure you get the reverse mount lcd...

I used a radio delete plate. Looks like I'm running a bit lean in this picture.

To make up for the lack of a radio, I built a small amplifier and installed it where the factory amplifier was. I ran a cable and a hardwired iPod charger to the glove box to play an iPod or any MP3 player through the speakers.

After comparing prices on the JAW,Aem, Innovative. I might pass on the JAW and pickup something else. I have a western motorsports wideband in my ford ranger. It works great with the SDS.

probably a good decision. there's nothing wrong with the JAW, BUT when you consider all the work you have to do to get it in usable condition, you're just as well off to buy a complete unit.

What work? I thought you could buy it fully assembled, with a fully assembled display, for much less money than any other comparable setup. If you know how to solder, you can save even more money, and it looks like a very easy kit to assemble.

You can. But then you need a case for it and a good ventilation setup for the case so it doesn't over heat and then something to protect the display also. I mean it wouldn't be that much work at all really. But i can get a used AEM for 80 bucks without the sensor. Or a LC-2 with a sensor for 130.00

I probably wouldn't buy a used wideband controller or sensor, just due to their finicky nature. I've also never heard of the LC-2...do you mean LC-1?

You'd still have to buy a display and possibly configure it.

Yes sorry it is a LC-1 with a DB blue led gauge.

That's a smokin' price if you can get it all with the sensor for $130, though the red gauge would look better in the SVO interior. The picture I posted earlier in this thread is the red DB gauge hooked up to the LC-1. I'd be curious to know why the seller is selling -- it is such an electrically sensitive device that it might have caused the previous owner a lot of headaches.

Here is what he told me. The guy is local to me also.

I'll sell you a used LC-1 with a DB blue led gauge for $140. Everything works, I just never got around to installing it. I bought it off a friend who used it on his turbo miata and when I purchased it from him it was in working condition. Im running a keydiver chip now so I have no use for it.

and finding something that looks nice, not like a 3rd grade science expirement gone wrong is not as easy as it sounds.

Nobody installs their wideband controller in plain view. My 3rd grade science experiments (MegaSquirt, home built amplifier) are hidden. Fitting a digital display to a panel is cake.
