Eric, I will take a look at mine tonight and post back tomorrow. I replaced mine with the re-paint, but took measurements. Hmmm, I will see if I still have those laying around too.
Eric, I measured my badge location and here is what I came up with:
From the edge of the fender to the edge of the emblem is 5 3/16". This is the edge next to the door, not the wheel well.
From the mid point of the top crease/bend to the bottom edge of the emblem is 1 1/16". This is where the sheet metal first bends out from the surface the emblem is mounted on.
I really don't want to start another "contest" but... if I'm not mistaken ( which I apparently have been proven to be, see 85.5 with leather?, post in the lounge ) the only SVO's to have the badge / emblem on the front fenders are the 86 models. I suppose if somebody wanted to add them or repainted their car at some point they could have put them on ???? Edited after submital : Where the H**L did the "4 psi boost" come from under my name?
to my spankin brand new painted 2r... and i used svono50's measurements from above... I made a templete out of a sheet of paper and lined them up.... looks good.. THANKS svono50.... now im just waitin on the third SVO badge to get to my doorstep so that I can put it on the back........
I had a NOS MUSTANG badge... i measured the distance between the edge of the Ford badge on the right side of the hatch around the corner of the edge of the hatch and put the MUSTANG badge the same distance.... I hope thats right.. it looks right... of course I come from a family of engineers and math is king round here......
my only question is how far apart is the SVO badge from the MUSTANG badge ????
I just measured mine.
If you lay a straight edge along the left side of the rear spoiler where it meets the body and sight down, the M in Mustang is 1-3/8" inboard. There is a 5/8" gap between the edges (black part) of the G and the S.
