I'm not originally from GA. It was done at H & H Restorations in Murfreesboro, Tn. If I had more stuff to be done now-a-days. I would make the roadtrip to The Boro because of their ability and pricing.

Ahh...at those kinds of prices, I wouldn't blame you. If and when the seat covers are available again I might hit them up if I can't find anyone locally willing to install them for a reasonable amount of money.

        down south prices

Prices are evidently a crap load better down south... WaltM - it'd be cheaper for you to talk with the ATL crew, ship your car down, have the car re-leathered, carpeted, and a new headliner (pay Ken to do it than it would for you to go with your "local" fella there. Heck man, drive it down, set up the work, fly back, then fly back and get it... you'd still save a grand or more

Having lived in Phila for 3 years, I can attest that things are more expensive there. It's a big, East coast city.....
Walt, look around for a place in Quakertown, up 476 (used to be 9, going to the Pokonos). They are fairly close.
When I had a '79 Shovelhead H-D, the place up there did some work for me here and there for 1/2 of what I would have to pay over at Camden County H-D.
It's a thought. Those phone calls you make scouting out someone else is worth the money.
You could always go to the West side of the City!

            Hyjack This!

            Enough with the HyJacking already!

What do we do about seat covers for the procrastinators in the club? I've got money in hand and nothing but foam under my butt.

Your'e right. The further away I get from the city, the cheaper it will get. I'm about an hour (or less) south of Quakertown. I'll do some web searches and see what I can come up with. But it would be nice to find a shop like E&G that has a pattern and could sew up a set, that is ready to install...

I can also do front seat covers provided the foam is in fairly good shape. The trick is to cut the old cover up the back and peel it off very carefully as to not damage the foam. Then put a large plastic garbage bag ( lawn / leaf ) over the seat and slide the cover down gradually. Then pull the bag out ( in pieces ) after the cover is in place. To do the bottom you'll need hog rings and hog ring pliers. It's really not that difficult if you take your time. A warm garage, or even in your living room, and a heat gun is also a good thing to have to get wrinkles out.

                    E & G

It's my understanding (svopaul can varify) that E & G are OUTof the leather seat cover business........The E & G material and patterns were sent overseas, I would assume to be manufactured cheaper and reshipped to the U.S. for distribution through another company.

HOW IT EFFECTS THE SVO ENTHUSIAST: due to the low production request of a set of leather SVO seat covers that are for a 20 years old car and possibly never to exist. The SVO enthusiast can only hope that Katskin ( the leading after market leather conversion supplier) could get ahold of the SVO patterns or someone send a set of covers to have patterns made up.

HERE's A THOUGHT: since Paul has a inside at E & G why don't he figure out a way to get the patterns and have them made for another SVPU exclusive.

I wouldn't count on Katzskin. I emailed them about the pattern and here's what I got back..

                      Dear Walt,
Thank you for your interest in Katzkin Leather Co. Unfortunately, we do not make the pattern for your vehicle. However, we do have authorized Katzkin restylers in your area who may be able to custom make you an interior from scratch by using our leather.

If you are interested in having your interior custom made and professionally installed, please log on to www.katzkin.com and click on "installation". There you will be referred to an authorized Katzkin restyler near you. They will be able to quote you prices and availability as well.

Please let me know if I may be of further assistance.

                      Best Regards,

Didn't Lee Clary (who works/worked at E&G) get the patterns?? When the news first came out about this I thought someone mentioned that he had them and some calls were being made to a few outfits to get the seat kits available again.

Right now I'm just putting in a set of cloth seats from a 99 V6 car just so I'll have something to put my butt on in the meantime. While not totally ideal, its better than sitting on my badly deteriorated stock seats.

Did anyone ever find out where to get seat covers?
Does anyone have the correct patterns?

Im thinking of just using newer model seats if this dilema isn't resolved.
