For what it's worth, My SVO has ACC carpet. Got it at 50 Resto. Been in there 8 years now I think. Fit fine and still looks good.
Maybe they switched manufacturers and are making it in china now like everyone else.
If it ain't broke... Give me some time!

I'll see what i can do later. The ACC carpet came pre-fitted and pre-cut with only the center stuff to cut out. But it was too short in certain areas leaving metal exposed under the passenger side kick panel. Not to mention that it just wasn't as good a quality at the Trimparts stuff. i installed black in my Pace Car and it looks pretty good with no fading yet. It's been in there for about five years but the last three and a half it's been un-driven and under cover.

The Trimparts carpet on the other hand comes WAY oversized so that the installer can cut it to fit. It's correctly molded but they include plenty of extra material so that there is no way to not have enough. My installation went fairly well but I'm kinda lazy so I didn't do the right stuff to get it to lay down and fit flatly. I used no glue as recommended and I cut just a little too much at the doors. I have to pull a bit to make everything cover all the exposed metal causing a few wrinkles here and there. This isn't a trimparts issue but an installer issue.

I have to say, the Trimparts carpet is top notch as far as quality goes. I bought mine from Fox Mustang Restoration and ordered the SVO color. Some folks say it's too dark but it was only about a half a shade darker than the floor mats I bought from SVPU which are now two years old. They, and the carpet, are about three shades darker then the door panel carpet at the bottom which is just plain gray, not charcoal gray. I'm convinced that it's a couple of decades of sun that cause that difference in shade. having said that I've seen SVO interiors with much lighter interiors than my carpet is. Or even than some of my interior parts are. Some of my parts are darker than others because they have faded at different rates.

This is incorrect. Trimparts Inc is ACC's competition

        ACC is in Alabama
        Trimpart is in Ohio

Whether this statement is accurate or not makes no difference. The carpet TrimParts sells is clearly superior to the ACC brand. My '84 came with ACC carpet in it and it had turned puke green in color. No one ever complains about Trimparts changing color to puke green. All carpet fades with age but that UV reaction that ACC has is something entirely different.

              8 years?

Btw, pretty sure we had sponsoring club vendors carrying it then too ... and they offer member discounts.

Ya know, I hope you buy it from them ... and I hope you get hosed on the price and product for promoting a NON-club sponsoring vendor here in this forum after you made it point to claim you promote club sponsoring vendors before anyone else.

No, they're not. The list of vendors is on the main site menu under Member Deals. Fox, 50Resto, BlueOval, etc are NOT on it for a reason. Besides their shady marketing and poor customer service skills, they dont offer anything that PPI, SVPU, Forced4, or Motion Dynamics (before they closed) offer. Oh yeah, those club sponsoring vendors? They give you an additional discount just for being a member of this club. It's an insult to the Vendors here who go out of their way to support this club year after year after year for you to openly recommend their non-club supporting competition.

                          Off my soapbox.

Please, support your club sponsoring Vendors.

I wasn't specifically recommending 50 Resto... I called numerous places, and they're the only one who could guarantee the color, (med gray? Light gray? Charcoal?) since they had an SVO out back they could compare it to before shipping it. I've been happy with all my purchases thru them.
Not sure if any club sponsors carried carpet back then. I think PPI only became a sponsor in the last few years... Other vendors were jus plain hard to get ahold ofm and didn't return calls. It's been too long ago for me to remember the details. I do know I searched this site and the net in general high and low, because I'd heard some complaints about ACC carpet. Unfortunately, in that search, it was determined that they were pretty much the only option.
Anyway... This thread is about the carpet itself... not where you buy it.
If it ain't broke... Give me some time!

PPI has been a sponsoring vendor since Aug of 1998.
