  • Where is everyone coming from ?? ( Driving Routes )

Just thought it might be a good idea to post-up where everyone is coming from and what days they planned on leaving...Perhaps others can see who might be taking the same route and join up.

This year im actually planning on being in Birmingham before the reunion and I think i will head out of B'ham ( Odenvile ) to be in Richmond Thurs. Looks like 59 to 24 to 75 shooting through Chattanooga and Knoxville onto Richmond.

I will plan on heading home to Cleveland, OH from the reunion on Mon morning. Simple shot from 75N to 71N which will run me through ( actually around ) Cinci and Through Columbus.

Should hit 75 right past Rome, GA around 9:00 am then up to KY.
I will stop about 200 miles out to eat and then drive on.
May stop by and throw rocks at James and Todd in Ringgold.
Can't get them to leave early, They love their job.
Time to clean up the engine bay!

Still waffling on what to do. Several options.

        1. Fly in to Atlanta and hitch a ride with GAboySVO, who is near I-75. If I come in a day or two early, maybe make a side trip to Odenville to pester Gator and Paul.

        2. Fly in to Lexington on Thursday morning and bum a ride to the hotel from Mike Fleming or Eric.

Just an idea - but why not plan a convergence like we did last year in Chattanooga. That way, people from AL, GA, FL, and parts of SC can hook up and do the convoy thing. You can also pick up folks along the way in Knoxville as well.

I'll be heading up I-75 from Hwy. 20 / Cartersville on Thursday morning if all goes well and I'm able to attend this year. I should have the 1B on the trailer.

Todd and I will be planning to meet everyone at Cracker Barrell if the Chattanooga convoy happens. That was fun last year.

Depends on final scheduling of the dyno though, if that's the day before we'll head up early. We're both planning on checking our cars.

Kerry, lemme know when you are heading up.

on the dyno, I only heard from about 5 people, not really worth it for that many --

I can still schedule it if I hear there are more people.

I was gonna head out Thursday (or Friday) AM around 8:00.
Take I-70 west towards Hagerstown MD which is where south I-81 intersects. NY Eric we could meet there at around 9:00 am and eat an egg sandwich.
Then head west on I 68, to I 79/I 77. Maybe have a late lunch in Charleston WV, and follow I 64 and all the little turns mapquest says to take to Richmond. Hopefully getting in by 5:30.
Jason, you interested, or do you know a better way?
Also, is the hotel the Best Western Holiday Plaza at the "100 Eastern Bypass"?

First Reunion...gee what should I do?

This will be my first reunion and I'll probably be trailering. My thoughts for this are 1) I'll probably get fewer speeding tickets (my last in the SVO was in 1989 clocked at 137 mph and I'm not too proud of it ..yeah right..I was just a pup then and didn't know any better) 2) I will be working on the car until the wire to get it ready and I'm not sure I'll be ready for a 995 mile jaunt each way without a few shakedown bugs, especially after all these years in storage and 3) I'll be solo so if things mess up, I'll be FUBAR

I'll probably be leaving on Thursday at about 3:00 AM taking I-81 to 78 to 81 to 70 to 79 and finally on to 75. At least that's how Mapquest says I should go. Hopefully getting in at a sane hour around 7pm

I'll miss the caravan, driving my car that is but it will probably be safer that way. Anyone want to hook up and show a rookie the ropes?

I got you beat by about 12 miles. I think it was about 1007 miles one way for me . George I am going to try to plan leaving earlier this year. If you leave Thursday morning maybe I'll meet you at Wildwood .
