I personally prefer the black trim on most cars But... on the sage car the grey trim really sets it off

Although the Hertz currently has a little more grey on it than it should
Is the car in car wash the Comp Prep from CA???? While I like my 85.5 4E it is one of the few NON Comp Preps here. Probably going to change that -need room for other cars.
Mark
P.S. Who has the other 3 85.5 4E's here???Mark

Yes that was Kermit / my 86 4E Comp Prep that I bought from Phil in California. I owned it for only a very short time. I still wish I could have kept it but oh well...Originally posted by THESVOTRUST View PostKen

I can take a hint!!!
Well.. if applied with a sledgehammer (hence the "Mallethead" Knickname!) I am contacting the body shop and scrubbing the order for the black and sticking with the gray. I appreciate all your inputs and advice on the car. As soon as I have more pics to post I will give everyone an update. I have an ugly feeling that I am going to miss this years reunion. Early "feelings" I am getting from the front office are not good at all.Originally posted by svobud View PostOn a 'color' car like a 4E or 7B - where the color of the car is what sets it apart from the others, I would leave the trim the proper color as well. To me, it would different if it was a more common color - so forth. I just dont think it will be well received and you'll probably get tired of people questioning the trim color and if the car truely is a 4E or not.
It reminds of an early 85 that was painstakingly restored a few years back with the one exception being the owner didnt like the gray trim and painted it black. Sooo many people would question the reasoning for the trim color and even the year of the car.
Gotta get with Paul on the interior stuff! Talk to you all later,

Remember, the original grey trim was a very dark charcoal grey. In fact, I think the grey on my car is incorrect. Check the grey on the taillights--that's the color it's supposed to be. I think you won't be disappointed.

That paint may have gotten more pale over the years. That sort of thing happens. It's called "Patina".Originally posted by NinjaBOY View PostIn fact, I think the grey on my car is incorrect.

I'm ordering it from Paul
The exterior grey trim will be from Paul over at SVPU, along with about 800-900 dollars in other interior pieces! Carpet, headliner, seat covers, interior dye....she's definately getting the once over!Originally posted by NinjaBOY View PostRemember, the original grey trim was a very dark charcoal grey. STOP!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!
those are the wrong pistons and will lead to major detonatoin and engine problems!! The pistons you want are the Speedpro L2500F. They are the correct forged pistons for the 2.3 turbo motor and have the D shaped recess that will deliver the correct compression ratio.
As an aside, the block is supposed to be light grey.

Thanks for the heads up on the pistons. I am on the horn with the engine builder now expressing my concern. On the block, I hate the grey on it, so I asked him to go with black. Thanks again for everything,
Wayne
