actually, you need to drill 6-8 holes in the rear subframe for the rear bracket to mount onto.'86 SVO (9L) SCCA autox car, "Sneezy"

This is what my buddy and I put in his ’66 coupe. We CADed it up and cut it out of chrome-moly, after fixing the suspension geometries. Personally the stock IRS is heavy and bulky.
I have a solid with a three link. It works real well.Last edited by Henson; 07-09-2006, 11:10 AM."Specializing in Brut Force and Ignorance."

yes, the stock IRS is not the best- it was designed to fit in a previously existing chassis, which causes all kinds of problems.
IMHO, they did the best they could do for a bolt in setup.'86 SVO (9L) SCCA autox car, "Sneezy"

Yes. Your right. With a trained eye you can see we designed around those constraints. It is designed well and works better than any cobra. No kit in future. Just wanted to watch the head scratching when people try to figure out how 18” cobra R’s fit on a ’66 coupe with no flairs and an IRS."Specializing in Brut Force and Ignorance."

So what is the weight difference btw an IRS and a 7,5 or a 8.8? I thought about this on my GT but it seems to be a bit wider than I wanted, how is the width of the IRS compared to the SVO?Originally posted by Mike Fleming
Besides my boost gauge only goes to 30 PSIG. That seems like a reasonable limit for a petrol engine in a street car.

Here ya go. A true road warrior!
The "We" above is so much me!? But I am envious that he's doing such a good job on this since I last saw it. This makes my SVO welding projects look like chicken s***. I once was proud with my in floor 2"X3" subframe connectors etc but, not so much anymore.
We’re both going to do our cages here shortly. I’m excited.Last edited by Henson; 07-09-2006, 11:10 AM."Specializing in Brut Force and Ignorance."

Paul, The latest Gen of the IRS.
Pat, There’s no doubt he and I are junkies. This Friday I am going to pick up our exhaust bends for the Mk II headers were making. I think I posted the prototype. I’m going to be a TIG’n fool for the next few months."Specializing in Brut Force and Ignorance."

I got a 66 fastback that would just LOVE to have that up under the rear. I got a narrowed 9", 28 spline, 355 posi, with discs, 5 leaf mid eye springs, Konis, rear sway bar, and under ride bars. All brand new / 0 miles stuff. Wanna trade? What shocks work with this set up? Coil overs I would assume?
