Joe P - good to see you around. So I guess you got the most you could out of your SVO motor? Wasn't it like 500-600 HP? What are you shooting for out of the duratech?

Coming from the Focus world...I would say yes. There are some turbo Focus with duratecs that are deep in the 300's now, with minimal mods, so it's only a matter of time imo.

        Did someone say, "ADAPTER"?

Just to clarify those pics are actually a 2.0 Zetec Ford engine not a 2.3. Very similar engine in my Contour. That does look like a nice setup though. Unfortunately I recently read somewhere that the remodeled '08 Focus will no longer offer the 2.3 Duratec only the 2.0 Zetec. Nice move Ford.

Which would be an odd move, because that's supposed to be the same chassis that the Mazda3 is built on, which uses the 2.3 Duratec engine. I just bought one of these last week (to replace my truck as my DD) and its a very nice engine for a n/a 4 cylinder.

I believe there are motor mounts available for a Duratech into an SVO. Chuck W, maybe? I forget. Seems like a set of those, a T5 adapter, and a standalone would get you there.

Actually there is a mazda 3 speed turbo for sale on evilbay w/ 569whp. So I'm pretty sure that it is a very buildable motor.

Since my motor is fried it is tempting to buy one of these motors w/ low miles for 3 grand and put it in w/ the speed 3 ecu and wiring harness....I did find the whole engine w/ 12k miles for $3200 miles

It would be a lot more fun for me to fab up motormounts and and adapters than for me to rebuild my engine to have less hp (with my current mods at least). Plus I can sell my turbo and a lot of extra parts I have laying around. Has anyone done this conversion on the svo yet?
