      Mine was already tapped. I just had to drill the hole and debur it.

        I've heard from multiple people here in CA that FMICs are not something that you can fail the visual for. Is that right?

        Most of the smog people around here are asshats and will check EVERYTHING if even one part looks non-stock.

        Also regarding Test-Only....my '89GT was a test only car, My SVO is, and my folks' '93 Explorer is(wasn't always), and my '94 Toyota truck is. Random 15% is totally bogus. I bet it's more like "all cars 13 years and older."

              Not quite true Pat. I had a standard smog once & a test only once. If I am still here next time my smog comes around I see what I get.

                That first non test only smog was likely done when you brought the car in to the state and registered it in CA. It wasn't in the "system" yet. Only residents of Maricopa county and parts of Homboldt county seem to escape the system.

                    not gonna look to clean after you cut it all up. i got the F4 kit because its bolt in ready to go, and it wasnt 299 plus tax and then shipping.

                      I'll agree 100% with that! Every vehicle (many) I own is over 13 years old and they are all "Test Only". There is a dedicated political policy and pressure here among the CA Smog Nazis to remove them all from the road.

                      Most of them are 84-86 2.3 turbos (SVOs, GT Turbos and Capri RS Turbos) and many of the smog techs around here have never seen one before. In some instances, the cars are older than the techs!

                        Actually it looks real clean if you take the time to cut the inner fender properly. It also takes the clutter out of the engine bay as well as feeds cooler air to the intake. It takes away that possibility of some knuckle head using your air cleaner as a place to put their tools.
                        But like I said if you are in fear of cutting anything, as I am on my SVO, it's not gonna be for you. I have installed one in my 2.3T Notch project car. It is well worth the selling price considering you get the filter the clamps, a gasket, the template to aid in cutting, the box in what ever color you want & it is a high quality made in the USA piece. I made it very easy to servie by mounting it using cam lock fasteners. I now have a straight line feed into the turbo of cool clean air.
                        Don't get me wrong, I like the F4 kit since it keeps the SVO uncut & intact. But for those not worried about cutting the Foxbox is a great piece.

                              Well I do not have the completed pics but I do have pics on mysite of the box in place before the cam locks were installed.
