These rims have the stock Pirelli's as well and sit rather tall. I have read the other posts about adopting these rims on our cars, but very little was mentioned about the use of spacers in the front. Is this necessary?
I dremeled one of my caps so far and I think we are in business and yes these rims really do look nice on the SVO. I test fitted one of the wheels and it does clear the fenders on my car (I can barely fit two fingers between the tire and fender), but I didn't go for a test drive to see if it will rub. It most likely will be a good idea to sell the stock Pirelli's and go for a nice set of 245 40 17's (maybe a 45).
Now for the lug nuts. Is everyone using the stock SVO lugs, including the key lock? They seem a little out of place and I am concerned the key lock lug nut is going to eat into the hole of the stud because it's not tapered like the rest of the normal lug nuts. Am I being anal here?
Don't use the stock tires or the SVO lug nuts. Just get some acorn nuts from any part store. 245/40's will look a little small IMO, 245/45 fill the wheel wells better. At least in the back.
86 SVO 1E, not stock. MM&FF May 2010
2012 Mustang GT, also not stock.

I think they look awesome on the SVO, but being a purist, I am keeping the stock wheels on mine. At least I have photos of how it looked with them on the car, reminds me of the old ET mags I bought in the early 70's for about $25 a piece...
