garyalsobrooks_fall95.jpg (19846 bytes)In June 1995 I purchased my 1984 '2A' SVO from long time friend and SVO enthusiast Rob Konrad who had moved to Atlanta several years before. I had ran into Rob at a car show and mentioned I was looking for a SVO if he knew of one to call me...Rob told me he would sell me my choice of one of his cars, 1986 2R or 1984 2A. Price really made the choice for me, so I drove the '84 home. After complete brake job with a couple rotors / calipers replaced and an axle to solve a vibration problem I had my daily driver.

During the SVO's duty of daily driver it saw autocross duty for the full 1996 season and was Tennessee Region SCCA 1996 B Stock champion. During the 1997 season the SVO ran fewer events but double the track time because my wife Lynette also started autocrossing, we also traveled to compete in a few out-of-town events with realitively good success (just ask the owner of the '86 Saleen R model...ha!) now running in F stock due to rule changes. In the spring of 1998 I was fortunate enough to be given a company car so at this time the SVO started its transformation into an autocross prepaired car and wouldn't see much road duty any longer.

I have owned several other muscle cars including Mach 1's, a Boss302, an Eliminator, a Talladega, and even a few brand-X. But I never have enjoyed any of them like the SVO! I am soon going to purchase another SVO to be able to drive and enjoy, as many of you know it gets in your blood.
