That's why he made it removable. "Installs in seconds!" Power Windows and Locks Operational
Thanks to Kendal for helping me locate the wiring harnesses I was able to get my Locks and Windows working well ! I need to get a new window motor for the passenger door. The window goes up and down but I think the gearing is tired. The Drivers door is fine. I did make a discovery when I was trying to reinstall the drivers door panel. The door was from a 87 or later door. Apparently, the panel hardware wasn't transfered and the panel was forced fit. I posted pictures of the correct clips and plastic fitting the top handle screw. I'm going to fabricate my own and fire up the Mig in the morning and burn them in. These will be far stronger than the little metal clips and plastic piece. I'll post pics when done. Also, I included to pictures of the lock and window switch schematics if anyone would find them handy. I know they saved me when the base of the power lock switch popped loose and all wires lost their place.

Door Panels
They may not be the final ones, they might crusty. But, it sure is nice to have door panels and smooth windows and lock switches. At least it kills some of the tin can echoe when test driving.
Starting my parts collection for the suspension overhaul. Should hopefuly get everything in a couple of weeks. It still amazes me how many people come up to me in a parking lot and ask me about my car. It's pretty cool having something rare.

Door Panel Pictures
Here are the pics with my crusty panels
. They'll work for now. I just couldn't stand mirror adjusters flopping around and the exposed steel. These will be replaced with leather ones after the body and paint this fall. I know my car was once a cloth interior from the factory. However, I just love leather too much. I figure since the cloth interior was lost I would use the leather seats (That will be redone of course). I hope the SVO gods won't be too disappointed.
Check out the Awesome steering wheel cover that came with it ! I am going to have that redone also. I may look for a core I can send in.

Starting to clean up the metal inside.
I figure since I am waiting for suspension parts I might as well start cleaning up the inside steel. It wasn't too bad. I found a couple of small areas I will need to cut out and weld in some new steel. However. it's pretty minor. I took a wire wheel and cup and cleaned all the surface scale and applied a rust neutralizer. I took the old shop vac and cleaned everything. The funniest thing was the cardboard someone used to keep the seats from squeaking. I'm going to upgrade and use rubber
. The spare tire well will be a little work. But, since I am going to drop the tank soon to put in a new fuel pump. I can do it then. Here are some more pics to enjoy !

Scary discovery while removing my steering rack
I got my reman rack from Cardone today from my local parts store. So far so good. I am waiting for the new urethane bushings to arrive tomorrow. However, while taking out the old rack I went to unbolt and disassemble the rag joint assembly. I was quite suprised there was NO bolt to clamp the assembly to the steering rack input shaft. I often wonder who does this kind of work. Scares the crap out of me.
Here some pictures for fun.
