That looks great! I'd definitely be interested. I have a 3" single I want to try first, but depending on noise, may go back to something more stock-like. The exhaust on our 86 has already been hacked at, and the pictures you post show a system that would breathe tons better than what we have now.

            Stock Exhaust Parts I used

These are the parts sheets I was able to put together via Rock Auto for a stock exhaust system from the Cat back.I highlighted what I used. I did need need to trim a little off the Y Pipe for a precise fit. The mufflers hung just a little far back on the hangers. Not much, maybe an inch. It will work as is I just think the mufflers hang a little more nominal. I hope these are useful. Feel free to PM if you have questions.

New Rear Springs and Koni's installed

Just finished installing the new rear springs, isolators and new Koni's. The isolators were petrified rock. The rear shocks were an inexpensive Gabriel Ryders. One of them had lost it's pressure. I changed out the old quads they were pretty crusty. Tomorrow, I am installing the new Koni Adjustables Struts along with Caster/Camber plates from Maximum Motor Sports for a full alignment. Pictures coming tomorrow.

What springs are you going to put underneath it?

I just went with the stock spring rates. I installed a standard set of MOOG's front and rear with Prothane Isolators. I'll post pictures after the final alignment. I just wanted to keep the stock ride.

I was hoping you were gonna try a set of H&R Sports on there. That's what I was gonna do. I have the FMS B springs on the Sage car, and like them, but wanted to try something with a little more rate. The 86's ride pretty high in the rear and you can't cut them down to size like you can with the front springs.

                    • I was tempted. I know a few folks have tried and liked them. I just wanted to go with the stock setup for now. Who knows what the future holds . By the way how did you make out on the Ebay auction ?

                      • New Koni Struts Installed with CC Plates

I just finished installing the new Koni struts and Caster Camber Plates. Looking forward to the final alignment this week. The install when smooth. I took my time checking for the tower clearances with the correct spacers. Looks nice with shiny new parts.

                        • Very nice! I'm sure the koni's handle alot better than those Gabriel inserts. The inserts were a cheap way to get it back on the road. New koni's are a bit pricey.
