  • The new suspension is awesome!

All I can say is wow! Nothing like a brand new restored suspension and Koni's! I'm still playing with the shock settings. But what a difference! My front end guy loved the new caster/camber plates. He was able dial everything in with ease. He also was impressed with the pillow bearings in the plates . It really reduces the steering effort. Needs better tires. The car has Goodyear LS on them. There a little hard and make a lot of noise. Every day a little bit closer.

    • I knew you would like the new stuff, now you need some good donuts on there to further compliment the ride. Set the rears to 1/4-1/2 turn off full stiff and play with the fronts from there. Full stiff on the rears is too stiff for street driving, IMHO, but a slight adjustment off of it is just right to help prevent the rump from popping sky high under hard braking. Good luck.

      • Body Parts Decisions Decisions

Just installed a hatch from a GT Mustang from an incinerated SVO. The hatch I had was a base model that was adapted. I wanted one that had the clean install holes for the spoiler. I was able to sell the old one to a friend that needed one. The passenger fender on mine has some hidden rot so I was able to get lucky and get an SVO fender for $150.00. The quandry I have is that my drivers fender is a new standard fender that was modified and looks fine. It doesn't have the additional bump and slight crease like an SVO Fender. I was hoping to find a drivers side but of the 2 I found they want my right arm. I was debating since I am going to use this as a fun driver I might store the SVO Passenger Fender and install a new standard one like the drivers side. Not really sure what to do. The joys of parts hunting.

        • Wish you were closer! I had collected many of the parts needed to restore the car before I sold it. I have a perfect hatch, a nice pair of doors and I think I have the DS fender. Packaging and shipping would be killer though. If you're just looking to make a fun driver out of it, why not put a standard style fender on it? However, if you're gonna spend a pile of money on a proper paint job, I'd recommend putting the correct parts on it. Just my two cents. In the end, you have to be happy with it.

Somebody local help this guy out!

BTW, the blue looks gorgeous in those pic.s!

          • Me too.Shipping is really a killer. Also, alot of folks don't want to (and I don't blame them) be separated from hard to get parts. I was hoping to get the car into the body shop by the end of October. In the meantime i'll still keep looking. If I can't find one i'll just store the good SVO Fender and get a standard one. The standard one that is on the driverside looks good. I was trying to keep the car as true as possible. I was able to find a repro upper wing from National Parts Depot to complete my rear spoiler. I was also able to get a rust free door to replace the passenger door. I need to rebuild the hinges with a kit. Lastly, I need to order the repro spats. Oh well one step at a time.

            • Thanks for the Paint compliment. Wish I could take credit. It was that way when I bought it. Did you ever have any paint work done when you owned it? Maybe we can chat via phone to discuss the cars history if you have time?

              • I did not have any paint done while I had it. Spent most of the time collecting parts for it. I'll PM my phone # to you. I'd be happy to have a conversation with you.

                • New Upper Wing

Just added the new upper wing. Definitely a classic SVO trademark. Just need the spats to arrive. After that a little more panel work then off to paint and the real body work.

                    • Rich, see if you can get in touch with Ken Potter .. he may have a spare stock fender and he's close to me here in the north of atlanta area.

                          • You going to take off the wing, spats, mirrors etc to paint it right?

                              • New Brake Day

I spent this weekend redoing the brakes with fresh rotors, bearings, etc. I did order a matching set of front calipers that should be here on Thursday . The calipers on the car seemed ok I just wanted to match everything up. Here are some current pictures. I'll post the new calipers this weekend. I'm going with a stock brake setup with motorcraft pads.
