    I got to drive it tonight and so far it's a beast, feels real strong and solid. Have some little quirks to work out but over all its good. The fuel rail worked out well also. Had some issues on the first start up but got them fixed today. I can P C valve covers, its best to text me. 678446 1071.

        Man, that's nice. I have to pull the cover off the engine first. I'm working on the back side now, but plan to get back up front once the fuel tank issue is straightened out. I _think_ I have another cover, but will have to search for it. I don't remember if it was a SVO cover, or other cover, as I believe the wording on the cover is different.

          Thanks Ted. I plan on redoing the intercooler this weekend. I'm tired of the red, it's going to be wrinkle black and polished.

            No problem Chris, glad to help. As for the intercooler, the red does look a bit out of place with the setup and the wrinkle black/polished will look nice IMHO.

                Well here we go again. I was driving home yesterday in my nice running SVO when it started skipping and vibrating very badly. After a couple of miles it developed a knock. I limped it home to pull the dipstick and find the oil to be not a pretty transparent brown color but metalic silver. The new engine that only has 320 miles on it is toasted. Looks like its commimg back out to see what broke this time. If it wasn't for bad luck I would have none at all.

                  Dang! Setbacks happen. Many years ago, I rebuilt the drivetrain in a 71 Trans Am I had. First run down the street, I discovered I had mis-fitted the rear main seal. Engine back on the stand #1. Fixed that, got the car back together, and about the third trip down the street the transmission started shifting very softly. Engine back on the stand #2, and trans to the shop for analysis. One of the _brand new_ bands broke. Simple fix, but real PITA to have to deal with with a new engine and everything. That was the last time the engine/trans went in. The car is still running!

                  So hang in there, it'll get better. Dist gear?

                      Ugghh!! Sorry to hear of the carnage, hopefully most of it is salvageable. Let us know what you find.

                          I got it out and apart sat. The main and rod bearings are trashed along with the crank. I have a spare crank that Im going to take to a reputable machine shop and have turned and polished. I"ll put some new bearings in it and she'll be as good as new. No more back yard buddy machine shops for me, I learned my lesson with that one.

                                Here are a couple carnage pics from Chris...just resized to be able to post.

                                So, did you lose a head gasket and dilute your oil or was something a bit too tight on clearances and just simply wipe the bearings/crank?? You certainly have a lot of bearing 'dust' in that oil drain pan, that is for sure!
