      • No deck plate for the boring to simulate the torqued on head? Just asking as that seems to be a fairly common practice by most shops these days.

              • Thanx for the compliment, they are TSW Nurburgring wheels in 17x8" with a +35mm offset. I picked them up from my local Discount Tire shop. They were the best combo of $$ and weight, coming in a $152/18 lbs. Don't let TSW's sales lit throw you off with the term 'rotory forged', they are cast rims with the outer barrel being spun to set the width. My factory Subie rims are the same thing.

                • Block after boring

Well just got back from the machine shop. They got the block bored with no issues. They just need to do the final cleaning then assembly. I was hoping to do the swap over Christmas. However, good work takes time. Here are a few pictures.

                        • Sorry it's been a while

Hi Guys, Sorry it's been a while. Finally getting close to firing up the engine on the test stand. My engine guy got a little backed over the winter. The good news is they're about done. The bottom end is all buttoned up and waiting for the head. They're doing an amazing job cleaning up the ports. I was amazed how they where able to take the stock head and with a little grinding and polishing they raised the flow from 170cc to 200cc. Should make a nice increase from stock. Here's are some pictures showing the bottom end. Hopefully, I will get it back in the car in a couple of weeks. I still need to order a clutch and have the transmission gone over. I figure might as well while it's out of the car.

It's taken a little longer than I thought but the attention to detail is worth it. For the test and run it we are going to use a standard carb and exhaust before adding the turbo. Charlie reccomended that to avoid break-in debri in my shiny new turbo rebuild.

                          Slow and Steady progress.

                            • Activity should start to pickup after I get the engine back. Right now it's mostly glass beading and polishing parts. I'm also planning to install a serpentine belt drive and 3G Alternator upgrade.
