All different kinds to choose from. What are your intentions with the car? Daily driver? Weekend car? Occasional driver? Show? Road course? Autocross? You can make your own, ebay and jeggs stuff, M&M and Griggs stuff and what I think is the top of the line the full GW. And that doesn't count the through the floor racing stuff like Henson has. The full Global West ladder type is not legal in SCCA by the way.

I've got some old Kenny Browns in mine. They work just fine. Just enough to stiffen it up, but not so huge that they add a lot of weight, or reduce your ground clearance. Some of them out there look like overkill, unless you're connecting a torque arm to them.
I'd like to add the acking rails t omine, but as Raven said, they might not be legal in my SCCA class. I know they've changed the rules some regarding subframe connectors, so I'll have to check it out.
BTW. If you have an SVO, and try autocross just once, maybe like at a Reunion... you'll probably get hooked. If it ain't broke... Give me some time!

Congrats on getting ready to get her back, fun is on the horizon. I too have the old Kenny Brown double cross units, which were low profile and do help stiffen things up nicely. I would search for a set that ties into your rear seat mounting points to help stabilize them and also prevent the dreaded seat wobble created by a cracked floor pan.
Here are a couple dirty pics of mine, the bars have a somewhat shiny yellow chromate finish, when clean, that has held up well. Good luck chosing a pair.Ted

Rear End trouble
The good news on the health of the engine (Excellent and consistent compression, as well as thumbs up from the mechanic on his test drive) is tempered with bad news on the rear end. I heard a growling when I drove it to the shop originally and thought that the bearings were shot; I hoped that the axels were ok, but as it turns out, they were not. Now I need axels and the posts that I read everywhere that say a 5 lug conversion can be done with a driver’s side ranger axel or a passenger side aerostar van will work are wrong for the SVO. The axels measure 30.5 inches (hypotenuse) when measured from the end of the shaft (no snickers here please) to the face of the disc mounting surface of the axel. The ranger/aerostar measure about 29 and 5/16ths when measured, and are confirmed to be too short when compared side by side.
My question is, will the axels from a 94 to 96 with a 7.5 rear end V6 Mustang (with no antilocks) work; are they the same length?
The car is taking up space on the shop's lift, it can stay there until Tuesday morning, but I need to find parts then so they can put it back together.
Help / previous experience with this issue is appreciated.

No, they will be too short. The axles from the Mark VII LSC are the same length. That is a 8.8 rear end. You could give Artie at arts performance parts an email and get a new set of axles from Moser. You could get 2 day delivery, but that puts you to wednesday, possibly tuesday and will cost about $325 with delivery last time I ordered a set.Originally posted by Ismythe View PostMy question is, will the axels from a 94 to 96 with a 7.5 rear end V6 Mustang (with no antilocks) work; are they the same length?

Moser axles worked for me
Mine were not completely gone but when I was changing gears in the rear end from 3.73 back to stock, that was the time to do the axles when everything was apart anyway, on top of the axles the cost of the bearings seals etc. it was obviosly more than I anticipated but as long as I intend to keep the car seemed the the right thing to do, although some have had luck with the axle savers as Eric mentioned if the budget does not allow new. Moser was really the only source I could find for a perfect out of the box solution."1st Auto-X"

Axle savers work fine, if you are careful with the prep and install.
Make sure you clean up the area of the axle where the axle saver's integral seal rides or you will be doing the job twice...ask me how I know. One other thing to be careful of is how far you push the axle in to get the c-clip inserted. Do not, I repeat, DO NOT just push the axle all the way in till it stops to insert the c-clip. You will likely damage that integral seal and end up slinging gear lube everywhere down the road...again ask me how I know. I put axle savers on two different Mustangs and did both mistakes which were real hassles each time.Ted

88 LSC axel question
I have come across a pair of 88 lsc axels. The 88 had an 8.8 rear. I checked the bearing race and it is the same as the SVO, I checked the length and it is the same as the svo. My question is will the exciter ring for the ABS interfear with anything, and will the fact that the axels came out of an 8.8 cause the axel not to fit in my svo rearend? A lot of questions, not a lot of time. I plan to take the axels to Marysville Speed in the morning to test fit, but if someone knows for sure that this will not work I'd like to save looking like a duffus. Thanks
