Thank man, not too much left now. I think they just need to spray the Spats ,rocker moldings, and mirrors. Then just installing the final little things like matching lock sets etc... . After that the interior work starts. I'm going to have them do the re-spray on the interior plastics and new dash pad. They have the better materials and facilities for that work.

        • As others have said, nice work! Are the wheels some nice used ones you have, or did you get a set refinished?

Thanks Gene, these wheels are a set I had refurbished at Metro Wheels in Marietta Ga. I'm going mount and balance them this weekend.

            • They look nice. I have a spare set of wheels. It's been a while since I've looked at them, so I don't remember what their condition they are, but wanted to know about refinishers, just in case.

i was amazed at what they were able to do. These wheels had some gouging and minor runout issues . They corrected everything. I'm going to balance them tomorrow.

Dang... I told those guys that they are not supposed to cut the recess for the center cap so large. They did the same thing on a set of mine and we had a "discussion" about it. Other than that detail, yes they do very nice work.

                    • You know I didn't realize It until you pointed out. I guess I should have left the caps with them. Oh well, at least they're shiny. I just had a thought that could be cool. I wonder if I could get my machine shop to custom turn some from billet aluminum? Where there's an Engineer there's a way !

Indeed!! A guy restomodding his 57 Cadillac had a set of wheels made that were copies of the Kelsey-Hayes wheels that came on those cars, only in a 20" diameter. He says they ran him $3K per _corner_.
