  • jamman16- the 10th anniversay wheels will fit with a few mods. the rears fit with know problems ,but the fronts stick out if you have the stock control arms. you need the shorter control arms from MM (87-93 length) i'll shoot a pic
of my car with the wheels on it. .....paul

          • EXCELLENT pics... I think a lot of people don't understand what I'm saying when I say they will fit, but they don't fit RIGHT (or think I'm full of it)... those show what I'm saying exactly!

The RE01 are nice but they are a summer tire only. If they are on the car and the car is on the ground when temp hits 25* or lower, you will have a permanent flat spot. And since you are in AK, the chance of hitting that time are high. You might want to consider the RE750s.

              • it is kinda a summer olny car i still have the 16 stocks with bridgestones i supose i could store the new ones inside for winter i already have to store a bunch of other crap in the winter plus i think i'll have it in the garage every winter for upgrades/repairs as work comes to a standstill in winter....
for rims and tires mounted and shiped up here is 1600 so i kinda have to think about what else i could use that for, for i make a absolute decision

Actually I would go with the Bridgestone Potenze 050 pole positions. Tire rack has the 255 40 17 on sale for $150 each. I have another post that talks about what I did to fit those wheels on my car.

                  • size/math

ok so a tire that is 255mm is 10.03"(255/25.4) tred width and 40 is the wall height so on a 255 tire its about 4" (10.03*.4) the original tire is a
                    225(8.85)/50(4.425)/16-original-overall 20.425"
                    255(10.03)/40(4.01)/17-new-overall 21.01"
so overall the new tire is
                    30(1.18)/-11(.424)/.585
                    Lrg /Sm /Lrg
                    dose that make any scence????

                    • Please use this calculator. It helps a lot in determining overall height in comparison to a stock or otherwise tire.

You have to double the section height to get to the overall diameter since it occurs at the top and the bottom of the tire.

                          225(8.85)/50(4.425)/16-original-overall 20.425"
                          should be: (4.425 * 2) + 16 = 24.85 OD
                          and the 2554017 would be:
                          (4.01 * 2) + 17 = 25.02 OD
                          It's pretty close.

                          • If you search for pics of my car (previous page), I have 255/40/17 in the rear. My car is also lowered about 1.5-2.0 inches. No rubbing with the wheels I have. I also have 225/45/17 in the front.

                            • Is there a consensus on fit for cars with the SN-95 conversion using the stock k-member and or a tubular k-member?

                              • I don't think the k-member is critical w/the conversion. If you want the best geometry, buck up for the Maxumum Motorsports (or equil.) tubular arms, coil overs, and CC plates. You will still need to make some decisions regarding the spindles and brakes but we could debate that for hours, days, or weeks. Nothing wrong with doing the k-member of course although it will add some, maybe even a lot, of additional noise inside the car.
