I need this kit! I wish I wasn't already in the middle of an engine install in our autocross car, getting a few boxes(!) of spares for the Seville, and installing a new compressor and parts on the wife's Caprice!!Originally posted by RFranklin View PostIt's the kit from Late Model Restoration. It's specifically designed for the SVO. It comes with the Compressor, Condensor, Hoses, Drier etc... Basically, it's everything and except 134 refrigerant. They state the compressor already has the Oil charge already in it. The important thing is to flush the evaporator and make sure you use a vacuum pump to completely evac the system and check for leaks. I've heard great comment about it. The kit sells for $800.00 approx.Gene Beaird,

I'm pretty sure a couple of the club members have done the 134 conversion kit. Everything I believe looks pretty much the same. I know the compressor is a little different. However, what I like is that it's designed for a 134 system. I'm not sure how well the kits work that convert the R12 System.Originally posted by inerceptor View PostDoes anyone have a picture of the 134 conversion kit installed on an SVO? I am just curious if it looks out of place or if it blends in.

First Check Ride Complete
Just finished my first check ride yesterday. Everything went very well. My upper radiator hose had a small drip so I have a new one to install. It was awesome to hear my freshly rebuilt turbo from Evergreen spin up. I didn't go crazy. I have the boost dialed in at 15psi max. I didn't let it go past 10psi . I want to put a few hundred miles on it before stretching the pistons. I'm also having a pair of torque dampers made to replace the old leaky ones. I'll post pictures when they are installed.

Sadly no one rebuilds them. What I have done was to by a pair of after market torque dampers and modify it to work with the SVO Mounts. The after market damper is a different and stiffer design that doesn't work like a regular shock with oil. It has a shock tube that has two rubber bumpers inside with a thick nylon spacer to actually dampen the torque. It will not allow as much travel that the suspa shock does. However, that's what I am looking for to help control launching the car. Here's picture of what I bought. I got mine in Blue. I'll keep you posted. I tried repeatedly to work with Suspa but the customer support. However, the rep didn't seem to be all that interested. We'll see how this goes.Originally posted by inerceptor View PostI was wondering the same thing. Mine are still working but if I could get them rebuilt for a reasonable amount I would do so.

Thanks pal! I can't really tell yet. I'm still running the engine in so I haven't really pushed it. After I get a few hundred miles on it ill see how they do. So far it's going very well. I still have some minor adjustments to do.

I've started to push the car a little and I like this damper setup. The engine feels more stable under load. Just thought I would share a little feedback.Originally posted by RFranklin View PostI just finished installing the custom torque dampers.

Awesome! Do you have part numbers, and what you did to make things work? It looks like you used the factory SVO mounts. Did you?Originally posted by RFranklin View PostI've started to push the car a little and I like this damper setup. The engine feels more stable under load.
